Ohhh, we celebrate BIG. 😄
Every summer starting July 1st, San Pedro turns into one giant beach party for one of our favorite events of the year - San Pedro Lobster Festival. Think amazing food, live music, cold drinks, and that laid-back island vibe we all love… just turned all the way up.
If you’re visiting during Lobster Fest, congratulations - you accidentally planned your trip at the best possible time.
So… what is The San Pedro Lobster Festival?
It’s exactly what it sounds like.
Lobster. Everywhere. In Belize, lobster season is all about the balance between marine conservation and culinary celebration. It spans an eight-month open season and a strict four-month closure to protect the Caribbean Spiny Lobster population. The season opens up July 1st and closes at the end of February.
Grilled, fried, skewered, stuffed, tacos, ceviche, pasta, burgers, kabobs - if you can dream it, someone’s probably cooking it.
Restaurants all over town create special lobster dishes and friendly competitions, and the beaches fill with music, games, and dancing. It’s part food festival, part street party, part “let’s celebrate island life together.”
And yes… you will want seconds.
What to expect
During San Pedro Lobster Festival weekend, you’ll find:
✔ Endless lobster specials at local restaurants with 2 weeks of non-stop Lobster Parties showcasing 2 different restaurant/bar daily starting July 1st and ends with a block party on July 11th
✔ Ice-cold Belikins and tropical cocktails
✔ Live music and DJs
✔ Beach parties and dancing in the sand
✔ Fun games and contests
✔ Smiling faces everywhere
It’s the kind of event where you say, “just one drink,” and suddenly it’s sunset and you’ve made ten new friends.

Lobster Fest isn’t just about food - it’s about community.
Local fishermen, chefs, bartenders, and families all come together to celebrate the start of lobster season. It’s a big deal here, and you can feel the pride in every plate that comes out of the kitchen.
Plus, there’s just something special about eating fresh-caught lobster with your toes in the sand and music in the background.

Lobster Fest is about getting deliciously full. The Beach Bar (our restaurant/bar) will be having our Lobster Fest Party on July 7th all day, with live music and our newest lobster specials as well as our Lobster Menu!! We will also have our Local Vendors Market Day Pop Up on the same day!!
It’s fun, flavorful, and one of the happiest weekends of the year on Ambergris Caye.
